Adventures in Our Winnebago, No. 7
Monticello, outside Charlottesville, Virginia.
Visiting Jefferson’s plantation was well worth the visit, even though it was a foggy, drizzly, rainy day. Jefferson was an amazing man with many interests and skills and we got a refresher lesson about slavery.
Virginia, on the outskirts of D.C.
Right: Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The Capitol building is just visible in the distance, far left.
Left: Alexandria, Virginia
Bottom: Arlington National Cemetery, with a view of the Pentagon in the background.
Mt. Vernon, Virginia
George Washington’s Plantation was quite different from Jefferson’s. Rooms were much larger, but also less ornate. Beautiful location on the Potomac River.
